Robert Tengdin, Chairman, emeritus
Mr. Tengdin joined Allison-Williams in 1952 and has spent his entire career selling investments to and developing products for institutional investors. He became one of the pioneers in the trading of private placement securities and expanded Allison-Williams’ operations into the institutional private placement marketplace. In 1977, he was elected President of Allison-Williams and subsequently became Chairman of the Board in 1987. Mr. Tengdin served in the U.S. Air Force and earned a BA degree in economics and psychology from St. Olaf College (MN) in 1952, and completed the Investment Banking Studies program at the Wharton School of Finance. In July 2012, Mr. Tengdin achieved his 60-year anniversary with Allison-Williams Company! Mr. Tengdin enjoys competitive downhill skiing, tennis and golf.
Greg Larson, Chairman and CEO
Greg Larson serves as Chief Executive Officer overseeing all AW lines of business as well as executing investment banking transactions. Mr. Larson joined Allison-Williams in November 2010 to specifically assist investors, managers and directors with the capital formation and profitability needs of their business enterprises. Mr. Larson is a 53 year old investment banking journeyman with specific industry expertise in community banking. He has a 30 year track record of innovative solutions and planning, successful execution and proven results helping companies form capital from profitable operations, merger, acquisition, and equity issuance. Mr. Larson has extensive relationships with financial institutions in the Upper Midwest. He has organized and arranged over $300,000,000 in capital for his clients. Mr. Larson “puts his money where his mouth is.” He is actively involved in the ownership and oversight of Plato Holdings/Drake Bank in St. Paul, MN and maintains meaningful passive investments in five other privately held community banks. Currently, Mr. Larson serves as a director for Plato Holdings, Inc. the one bank holding company for Drake Bank in St. Paul. As an investor and director for Plato, Mr. Larson serves as a director for Drake Bank. He co-chairs the bank’s Asset-Liability Committee and sits on the Board Credit, Appraisal, Compensation and Audit Committees of the bank. Mr. Larson has an undergraduate degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN and maintains FINRA Series 7 (general), 24 (principal), 63 (state blue sky), and 79 (investment banking) licenses. Mr. Larson’s outside interests include CrossFit, Muay Thai and Ghost Boxing, Brazilian Jujitsu, Triathlon, Downhill and Nordic Skiing, Grouse Hunting and Fly Fishing. Mr. Larson is married and has one daughter.
Cedric Long, CFA, President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Long joined Allison-Williams in 1990. In addition overall firm management, he heads the Company’s Corporate Finance practice, including capital raising and M&A. He is involved in arranging private debt and equity capital for companies through private placements with institutional and professional investors and lenders, and representing companies in sale transactions. He has executed numerous transactions ranging from several million to over $50 million. He also co-developed and managed a specialty private equity fund sponsored by the Company, with profitable results. Mr. Long earned a BA degree in Accounting and Finance from Bethel University (MN) in 1987 and an MBA degree in Finance from the University of Minnesota in 1990. Mr. Long was awarded a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1995. Mr. Long is involved in several non-profit pursuits, including serving as Chair of the Board for Community Dental Care, an organization that provides dental services to underserved populations, and on the Board of Governors for the Bethel University Foundation. He is an active volunteer in his church and school district, and enjoys travel and family activities with his wife and two children.
Roxanne McGuire, Senior Vice President
Ms. McGuire joined Allison-Williams in 1982. After five years in Allison-Williams Company’s institutional trading area, Ms. McGuire moved to the Company’s municipal bond area, where she underwrote and traded municipal bonds through 1990. Subsequent to her municipal bond experience, Ms. McGuire traded non-securitized loans, both mortgage and non-real estate. In addition loan trading, Ms. McGuire now leads the Company’s trading of private placements in the secondary market, arranges financing on commercial real estate and is part of the Company’s sales team for private debt and equity transactions. Ms. McGuire was employed by the securities firm of Piper, Jaffray prior to joining Allison-Williams Company.
David Tengdin, Senior Vice President
Mr. Tengdin joined Allison-Williams in 1999 and is primarily involved in the trading of private placement securities, having traded issues as small as $10M to well over $100MM. Prior to joining Allison-Williams he was involved in origination and trading of private placement, public, and government securities for nearly twenty years with several other investment banking firms. Immediately prior to joining the firm he co-founded a start-up technology and promotions company. Mr. Tengdin served on the Board of Directors of Buck Hill Inc. for twenty three years and helped negotiate the sale of the ski area in 2016. He earned his BA degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado in 1981, and attended an executive graduate program at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN in 2007. Mr. Tengdin is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a former professional downhill alpine skier and is still active with the US Ski Association as a senior competitor, coach and alpine official. He is also currently active with the local Boy Scout Council, and has been awarded the BSA Silver Beaver Award in addition to many other awards primarily for teaching youth scuba diving.
Patrick Ryan, General Counsel and Treasurer
Mr. Ryan joined Allison-Williams Company in 2017 and oversees legal, financial and administrative matters for the firm. He previously served as Vice President and Senior Corporate Counsel for US Bank, and as a Corporate Attorney for Conseco Finance Corp., as well as in private practice of law. He received a JD degree from William Mitchell College of Law and a BS degree in Accounting from Saint John’s University. He is involved as a volunteer in finance and governance of several non-profit organizations including the Cathedral of Saint Paul.
